An Overview

Copyright registration

Copyright is a legal privilege granted to authors of literature, dramatic, musical, and artistic works, as well as producers of films and recordings, under the constitution. When a business owner registers for a Copyright, he obtains the exclusive right to print, duplicate, and distribute the work. He may also delegate authority to another body for the same reason. Copyright registration is important because it allows you to communicate with the public, reproduce rights, and adapt and translate works.

Copyright registration

Benefits

Legal Representation
Original job creators are still legally protected when their work is copied without permission. Copyright registration, on the other hand, makes it much easier to defend this original work from piracy.
Presence on the market
By registering a copyright, you create a public record of your work and provide evidence of ownership for your artistic work. It can also be used in marketing and to build positive consumer perceptions.
The Owner’s Rights
The owner of a copyright has control over the work’s reproduction, distribution, adaptation, and translation. You may have several differences in the composition of the rights depending on the work

Steps:

The procedure for registering copyright

Step 1: The copyright registration application has to be submitted in the concerned forms with the Copyright Registrar, listing the details of the work.

Separate copyright applications may be needed depending on the type of work.

Based on your copyright work, our representatives will ask for some specific information. You must also give us three copies of your work, as well as a few signed documents, including an authorization letter, which we will send to you via email. If the work has not yet been completed, two copies of the manuscript will be submitted, one of which will be returned to the applicant with a seal and the other will be kept secret by the Copyright Office. Applicants may also submit only excerpts from the manuscript rather than the entire unpublished edition.

Step 2: The claimant must sign the documents and the application must be submitted by the Advocate in whose name the Power of Attorney was executed.

The copyright registration application will then be prepared by our experts, and the correct forms will be electronically sent to the Registrar of Copyrights.

Step 3: Once you’ve submitted your application online, you’ll be given a Diary number.

Step 4: The Copyright Examiner checks the application for any inconsistencies and/or complaints after a 30-day waiting period.

Step 5: If a discrepancy and/or complaints are discovered, a discrepancy notice will be given, which must be completed within 30 days of the notice’s issuance.

Step 6: The copyright will be licenced and the Copyright Office will issue the Extracts of Register of Copyrights (ROC), which is nothing more than the Registration Certificate, until the discrepancy has been resolved or if there are no inconsistencies or objections with the submission.

You will be assigned a diary number once you have completed the copyright application. From today, registration will take 12 months. At this time, we might be asked for clarifications and/or defects in the application, and reacting to and complying with the defects would cost an additional Rs. 1500. Throughout the process, our representatives will keep you updated on the status of your submission.
